Overview:
The Patient Services Representative plays a key role in providing a positive patient experience by managing front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and payment collection. This position ensures accurate patient information and supports efficient clinic flow while delivering excellent customer service.
Excellent pay up to $19.00 an hour, with full-time benefits and quarterly incentives.

- Utilize eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic health record system and other computer applications to support efficient clinic workflow
- You can accurately complete quality patient registrations in the EHR, maintaining the integrity of demographic and financial information required for clinical and billing functions for every patient encounter.
- You can research and resolve registration issues related to demographic, clinical, and insurance accuracy.
- You demonstrate the ability to maintain HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
- You can schedule appointments and maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- You have experience ensuring insurance verification and financial clearance for all payors at each encounter via phone or web, in order to provide patients with estimated financial responsibility for services.
- You can ensure proper patient billing and payment collections in accordance with the Sliding Fee Scale and all health plans.
- You have experience maintaining an accurate cash drawer, including reconciliation and deposit functions.
- You understand and adhere to state and federal regulations and organizational policies regarding compliance, integrity, and ethical registration practices.

To be Considered You’ll Need:
- This is a full-time position with standard clinic hours and additional flexibility as needed
- If already employed, must be a current employee in good standing with the organization for a minimum of 18 months (if transferring from another department)
- Minimum of 6–12 months experience in current role (preferred)
- Strong understanding of front desk workflows, including scheduling, check-in/check-out, and patient registration
- Demonstrated ability to accurately collect copays, balances, and nominal fees
- Knowledge of insurance verification and basic billing processes
- Consistent attendance and punctuality with minimal corrective actions
- Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation and chart notes
- Strong customer service and communication skills with patients and team members
- Ability to handle high-volume environments and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) and appointment scheduling tools (preferred)
- Must demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Ability to support no-show management and schedule optimization efforts
- Willingness to float or assist other areas as needed
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility to work across Spartanburg and Cherokee County health center locations
- Optional Saturday clinic coverage (eligible for overtime pay)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
