Medicaid or CHIP Coverage

Don’t risk losing your Medicaid or CHIP Coverage. Eligibility reviews have resumed, so make sure you update your contact information with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, so you receive updates about your coverage.

Keep Your Medicaid or CHIP Coverage

Do you or a family member have Medicaid? If so, you need to take steps to keep your coverage.

Medicaid’s yearly eligibility reviews have resumed to determine all current Medicaid enrollees’ eligibility status. All members must complete this annual review each year to stay in the Healthy Connections Medicaid Program. If the annual review is not completed, the review process may impact your coverage.

How to Keep your Medicaid or CHIP Coverage:
Visit https://tools.apply.scdhhs.gov/quick-tools/ or call (888) 549-0820 to update your contact information with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SC DHHS). Your updated contact information will be used by SC DHHS to send you important updates regarding your coverage. If you do not update your contact information, you may lose your coverage.

Check your review status by visiting https://apply.scdhhs.gov or by calling (888) 549-0820 to learn about your annual review date, when you should expect your annual review form, whether your form has been received and more.

Watch for your renewal notice. When it’s time to renew your coverage, you will receive a notification by mail, email or text message (if your updated contact information is on file) from the SC DHHS. If you are sent a text message, it will come from (803) 879-4184. If you get a renewal form, complete the form and return it within 30 days to continue your Medicaid or CHIP Coverage if you are still eligible. Please note that you may not get our notice until as late as March 2024.
