Kathrene Carter Brendell is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and her BSN from the University of South Carolina. She received a post-graduate certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Mental Health from Vanderbilt University. She previously received a Bachelor of Art degree from Berea College in Biology. She has served in the Marine Corps and the United States Army and is a Gulf War veteran. She has served as the Assistant-Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Program at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and the Acting Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Program at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.
She has twelve years of practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with an emphasis in child and adolescent mental health. Prior to her work in mental health Kathrene worked for seventeen years in Urology. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
