Nurse Practitioner Week

National Nurse Practitioner Week

Join us in celebrating Nurse Practitioner Week which is the second week of November every year. We would like to recognize our invaluable healthcare providers along with raising awareness of the role they play in ensuring general health and well-being.

Nurse Practitioners are highly educated and trained medical professionals who are almost like doctors. NPs continue rising to meet the needs of patients, by pursuing the advanced education and clinical training this is required to become an NP. In addition to their roles as registered nurses, they can also provide primary care, counseling, diagnosis, offer health education, and write prescriptions.

NP Fun Facts

How many years does it take to become an NP?

It typically takes between six and eight years to complete the necessary education and training to become a nurse practitioner, after you have completed high school.

NPs and Registered Nurses

NPs are different from registered nurses. They have higher training and education than registered nurses.

Prescriptive Privileges

NPs have prescriptive privileges. They have the legal right to prescribe medications in all 50 states, including Washington D.C.

Specialties

NPs can practice in almost all specialties. They have the required training to specialize in almost every medical specialty and sub-specialty, including mental heath, cardiology, neurology, and orthopedics.

Patients

A recent report showed that nurse practitioners in the US see or care for over 1.06 billion patients a year.

The simplest way you can demonstrate your support and appreciation during Nurse Practitioner Week is to say “thank you”.  Stop and thank a nurse practitioner and let them know you appreciate the work they are doing in our community.

ReGenesis Health Care NPs are an excellent choice for your family’s health care needs. A big thank you to every nurse practitioner for delivering care patients trust.
